Project Goal
To design an educational website that connects holistic practitioners with the public, promoting awareness and understanding of alternative wellness practices.
The goal was to create a user-friendly, trustworthy, and visually calming digital space that could serve as a foundation for a future practitioner marketplace.
Challenge
The main challenge was translating a broad and evolving client vision into a clear, actionable product direction.
Throughout the project, scope changes and unclear business objectives required constant alignment between client expectations and feasible design outcomes.
Solution
To make holistic wellness more accessible, our team focused on developing an intuitive and empathetic search experience.
Research revealed that many users were unfamiliar with specific holistic practices and struggled to articulate their needs using technical terminology.
Our solution was to design an adaptive search bar that accepted open-ended language — allowing users to describe their pain or symptoms in their own words (e.g., “anxiety,” “back pain,” or “trouble sleeping”).
The system would then translate these user expressions into relevant blog content, practitioner profiles, and categories, helping people discover holistic solutions they might not have known existed.
Outcome
The project resulted in a solid research foundation that defined Vibe Inside’s purpose, target users, and long-term potential.
Through interviews and secondary research, we established insights into both public attitudes toward holistic wellness and practitioner needs, forming a strong basis for future platform development.
The team delivered comprehensive brand development and definition, clarifying Vibe Inside’s visual identity, mission, and core problem areas to address.
While the final output did not fully achieve the intended functional outcomes, the process produced clear user findings, a validated concept direction, and a cohesive brand system that positioned Vibe Inside for further refinement and growth beyond the academic project.
Learning
This project offered valuable lessons in both teamwork and leadership.
I learned the importance of clear communication with the client, defining scope early, and maintaining consistent alignment within the team.
At the project’s outset, both myself and another teammate expressed interest in taking on the project management role. The decision was made quickly, largely based on initial team formation rather than a discussion of leadership approach or merit.
In hindsight, I recognize that I could have proposed a more considered selection process, allowing each candidate to present their vision and enabling the team to choose based on leadership qualities rather than circumstance.
Throughout the project, my contributions in organization, communication, and morale-building highlighted that I naturally thrive in leadership contexts. This realization gave me confidence in my ability to lead effectively, and in future projects I intend to step forward with conviction and provide structure from the outset to support a stronger outcome.
