Project Goal

Create a professional, conversion-focused website that showcases Oisín’s live music services, communicates credibility through authentic media and testimonials, and simplifies the booking process for both event organizers and fans.

Challenge

The challenge was to evolve the website from a simple promotional space into a useful tool for audiences. Rather than just asking visitors to “book me,” the goal became to offer real value — giving them access to my full song list so they could make live requests and feel part of the performance experience.

Solution

A modern, visually cohesive redesign that clarifies information and engages the audience. The site was restructured around an improved song list experience that invited visitors to explore and make requests, transforming the website into a more interactive and memorable part of the live music experience.

Outcome

The redesign led to a 3–5× increase in online attention and a significant rise in Google reviews, strengthening trust and visibility. As a result, weekend bookings became consistent, demonstrating how improved user experience and clearer value communication translated directly into real-world results.

Learning

Designing for myself revealed how difficult it can be to stay objective. I relied on feedback from fellow designers to better understand how colour communicates personality — discovering that warm tones of yellow, orange, and green more authentically reflected the atmosphere of my performances.

A major insight was the importance of building functional value into the site. Rather than asking audiences to do me a favour by visiting, I created a reason for them to engage — providing access to my song list and the ability to make requests. This shifted the experience from self-promotion to participation.

I also gained hands-on technical knowledge in layout handling, responsive widths, and coding limitations within Wix, as well as a deeper understanding of how audience participation fosters emotional connection — a transferable skill I now apply to designing engaging, user-centred digital experiences.
